Calgary International Active Fundraisers

Location: Calgary Chess Club, #274-3359 27th St. NE
There will be 5 Active fundraisers leading up to the Calgary International. All events will be 5 round tournaments (swiss or round robin, depending on entries).
These events are not CFC rated so CFC membership is not required.
Time Control: Game in 25 minutes plus 10 second increment per move from move 1
Entry fee: $20 per player.
Prizes: 50% of entry fees to prize fund, 50% of entry fees to Calgary International
Times: All tournaments start at 11 pm.
Registration: Registration by email to calchess@telus.net. Register at the door from 10:30 am to 10:55 am for each tournament.

Active Fundraiser #2: Sunday, March 27
Active Fundraiser #3: Sunday, April 10
Active Fundraiser #4: Sunday, May 8
Active Fundraiser #5: Sunday, May 15

Simul with FM Greg Huber

Six time Alberta Open Champion and three time Alberta Closed Champion
Greg Huber will be giving a simul as a fundraiser for the Calgary International
Date: Sunday, May 15, 7 pm
Location: Kawa Espresso Bar, 1333 8th St. SW
Entry Fee: $10
Limit of 10 boards only
Anyone is welcome to play!

Calgary International Blitz Championship

Date: May 17
Location: Calgary Chess Club, #274-3359 27th St. NE
Format: 7 double-round swiss
Entry: $10
Prizes: 80% of entries

Registration: Register in advance by email to calchess@telus.net or at the door on Tuesday, May 17th by 7:25 pm.
Games start at 7:30 pm

Chess Simul with IM Jacek Stopa

Date: Wednesday, May 18
Location: Calgary Chess Club, #274-3359 27th St. NE
Entry: $10 per player
Registration: Register in advance by email to calchess@telus.net or at the door on Wednesday, May 18th by 7:25 pm.
Simul begins at 8 pm.
Limit of 20 boards

Calgary International (main event)

We welcome spectators during the tournament. Admission is $2 per day. Entries to the Reserve section get free entry to watch the International section. Cell phones must be turned off. If your cell phone goes off in the tournament hall, you will be asked to leave.
