Name:     CCC's  Grand Prix Leg2 2026

This will be the 2nd Leg of 3 Tournaments in the 2026 CCC Grand Prix Series.

Prizes will be 70% for each leg and 30% for the overall winner, which will be based on the best two out of three tournament results.

Dates:    Tuesday, February 17, 2026 - Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Format:     Swiss, 5 rounds, Classic 90/30 (game in 90 minutes plus 30 seconds/move),

                 CFC and FIDE rated,2 Section (Premier Over 1500 CFC, Future Masters Up to 1500 CFC)- Depending on the participation, the Organizer /TD may merge both the sections into a single Open section. 

Entry Fees: Regular Adult $49, Junior (U20) $44, plus an $8 administrative fee.

                    If paid more than 24 hours ahead (i.e., before 07:00 PM on Monday, January 12, 2026.

                         The admin fee is waived, making the Earlybird Adult ticket $41 and the Junior ticket $36.

                    Regular Titled Players (NM and CM) Earlybird $21. FM and Above Earlybird $1.


Eligibility:     Current CFC (Canadian Chess Federation) and CCC memberships are both required.

 Ratings:    Players rated CFC 1300 to 1499 will usually be assigned to the Future Masters Section, but

                  may request the Premier Section beforehand by contacting the TD or Treasurer.

                  The TD reserves the right to move players up or down, depending on numbers, parity, etc.

                  The CFC database updates weekly by Friday.  CCC may use Monday, February 16, ratings.

TD Rules and Procedures:

1.    The TD will not accept promises of attendance or payment.

2.     The TD reserves the right to promote a CFC-unrated Player to the Premier Section, e.g., if the Player holds an appropriate FIDE rating or a high chess.com (or equivalent) rating.

3.     To request a bye and receive a half-point (max twice but not in the last round), contact the TD before the draw is made - usually by Sunday noon, or at TD discretion.

4.     No-show default time is 30 minutes, but if a player contacts the TD, an extra 15 minutes may be allowed at the TD's discretion.

5.     If no contact within 3 days, the TD will assume the Player has withdrawn and will not pair the player.  No payments will be refunded after the tournament has started.

6.     Unrated Players will not be eligible for category / under 1500 section prizes.

7.     TD has the right to eject any Player who violates CCC’s posted Zero Tolerance Policy.


Purchase of Entry Fees and/or CCC Membership:  May be made:

         preferably via the website https://CalgaryChess.com/CCC/Events, or

         via Etransfer to Payments@CalgaryChess.com, password = Excellence, or

         Cash


 CFC Membership:  Required, but CCC does not accept payments for CFC.  If necessary, join/renew CFC membership online at https://www.chess.ca/en/players/membership-join/.  The annual fee is Adult $43, Junior $28.  Alternatively, a CFC single-tournament membership is Adult $20, Junior $10.

If a Player joined or renewed at CFC in the previous 10 days, TD may require proof (e.g., screenprint).

 Prizeswill be the sum of entry fees less:

1.       CFC rating fees

2.       TD fees

3.       CCC overhead charge of up to 10% to cover supplies and payment processing fees

4.       CCC snacks.

Notwithstanding, CCC guarantees the net prize pool for the Premier Section will be at least $200.  The Future Masters prizes will be calculated accordingly.

The above Terms and Conditions are for this tournament only, but may override any other general T&C's that may be on our website.
